Our Favourite Spring Fashion Inspirations!

We know that we keep promising Spring is on it’s way… and yes, it may be drizzling rather enthusiastically in Manchester today. But we’re determined to keep the faith – and we’ve been doing so by practising a little online shopping this morning! We’ve picked some our favourite fashion pieces from our favourite British Heritage brands, and teamed them up with some of our classic British handmade leather satchels. Our favourite thing about this season is the license to wear bright blues, funky prints, and comfy lightweight knits, and as usual our favourite shops haven’t let us down!

White Stuff CAT PRINT TUNIC teamed with our BRONCO FLAP OVER MINI SATCHEL

This blouse captures everything we love about White Stuff! It’s light and breezy, casual and cute, and the print is totally unique. Ideal for an afternoon walk in Spring – we’ve teamed it up with our very popular Small Bronco Flapover Bag from our Rowallan range. Big enough to pop your camera and a snack in, it’s perfect for exploring new places and taking out for a countryside pub lunch!

We LOVE this jacket! It’s incredibly lightweight, showerproof with a large hood, and that print is blowing our minds with cuteness! It’s great for layering up over a cosy knit for a rainy day – whether you cycle to work or walk the kids to school, this jacket is ideal for being practical in the sassiest of ways. We’ve teamed it up with our Baltimore Leatehr Rucksack – another fab way to look great whilst being sensible. Stealing its unique design from the classic school satchel, it has plenty of pockets, a laptop insert, zipped pockets inside and on the back, a top handle, and adjustable shoulder straps. And with beautifully oiled leather – it’s waterproof too!

Bright, light, and slim fitting, Joules know how to make a man look smart! We love the flashes of red and green running through this tartan, it’s a really fresh take on a classic print. This is why we know it’d look great with our Denver Large Satchel – another take on an old classic! Perfect for the organised Gentleman, this satchel comes with plenty of pockets for gadgets, magnetic openings for easy access, and an adjustable across the body strap. Great for taking to the office or walking the kids to the park – it’s a very handsome all rounder!

Our New Collaboration…

As well as planning plenty of our new stock for our pop-up stalls and websites, you can now find us showing off a great selection of sheepskin accessories and homeware from our very lovely pals at Baa Stool. Michelle of Baa Stool is a very talented upholsteress, and she specialises in hand making beautiful products from locally sourced sheepskins.

We love Michelle’s philosophy behind her products – creating beautiful hand made items from natural resources and utilising the very best of local produce. Nestled in the stunning mountains of North Wales, Michelle’s studio is brimming with Welsh sheepskins – including Welsh Rarebreeds – and they get transformed into gorgeously fluffy handmade rugs, foot stools, bag charms, cushions, headbands, and hand warmers! Following a very succesful few months for Baa Stool (including a feature in Cheshire Life, Vogue, and 60 Minute Makeover), we’ve joined forces with Michelle to put on a great display of Sheepskin accessories teamed with our natural leather products at a selection of our regular markets and events.

So next time you see us at a market with Baa Stool’s lovely products, don’t forget to pick up a real sheepskin bag charm to complement your leather satchel bag!

Spring is in the Air!

Okay, so maybe it doesn’t feel like Spring is in the air… but it’s coming, honest! After a very sad washout weekend for us, we’ve really had to fight to remain positive this week, and we’ve done so by making sure we have plenty of exciting events lined up for Spring, and ordering some lovely new stock for our customers.

This weekend sees the first day of March, which is in our eyes is definitely the first twinge of Spring, so we’d like to take a minute to thank our lovely customers for supporting us throughout this tough Winter period! After a buzzing Christmas, we had a really great January – but February has certainly been a test of faith for us! Last weekend was the first time we’ve had to leave events early due to the bad weather – it’s always tough to make the decision to leave a market stall, but we couldn’t risk our stock being damaged by the driving rain/sleet/snow/wind/freezing temperatures! Despite the bad weather, a few brave customers STILL came out to see us, and it’s you feisty lot we’d like to say a big thank you to!

So what have we got lined up for you this Spring – aside from plenty of sunshine (we can only hope!)? Well, we’re planning on hitting all our regular markets pretty hard with some lovely new stock this season – this includes Wilmslow, Buxton, Northwich, Knutsford, Didsbury, Cheadle, as well as our newbie markets St Helens and Congleton. We’ve also got some new events lined up, including a stall at the Lowry’s artisan market in Salford Quays, Edge Hill University, and more in the pipeline!

So this week we’re putting our very chilly weekend behind us, and moving forward with thoughts of sunshine, lighter evenings, buds on the trees, and spring lambs! Come on March, we’re ready for you now! Stay tuned for dates of our exciting new events, and keep your eyes peeled for some new stock on our websites!

Shop Local This Weekend!

We really love our weekends at the moment – over the past few weeks we’ve discovered some great new local events, and re-established our regular markets for the New Year! In truth, we were expecting a very quiet few months after Xmas, but our lovely customers have kept us on our toes, and it’s been great to see so many people deciding to shop local on their weekends!

This weeked we are going to be at St Helen’s Makers Market for our second time. We had a great day there last week, and it was brill to be set up in the traditional market hall in St Helen’s – we felt like PROPER old school market traders (“two for a pound”!). We really enjoyed meeting our new customers, and we were chuffed to see so many people making the effort to visit their local market traders for fresh produce, handmade crafts, and of course our leather satchels! Good on you St Helen’s!

As well as St Helen’s on Saturday, you can find us at Wilmslow Artisan Market – one of our favourite events, and one that never disappoints! Our regular customers at Wilmslow are always so supportive, and sometimes it looks like the whole town turns out for the event. There’s always a great atmosphere, with customers wandering around munching homemade cake and tasting artisan cheese to the sound of live music and lively market banter.

AND, as if that wasn’t enough for you local market hunters, we’re at West Didsbury Makers Market on Sunday! Another one of our favourites, we love this chilled out market and it’s quirky local traders. Didsbury is another event that sees a whole community making the effort to come out and shop local, and we LOVE the live music and artisan coffee – it makes our job a real pleasure!

So if you feel like shopping local this weekend, there’s plenty of choice for the discerning spender in the North West! Pop out to see us, and we might give you a cheeky shop local discount if you mention that you saw our blog 🙂

Where are we this Weekend?

This weekend we have a very busy pre-valentines weekend planned!

We are excited to announce our first ever stall on St Helens Makers Market this Saturday (7th February), situated in St Marys indoor events hall (no thermals necessary – what a treat!). The Makers Market takes place EVERY Saturday in St Helens, and we’re really looking forward to being a part of this historic institution. With plenty of locally sourced food, drink, crafts, and homeware – there is no excuse not to pay us a visit if you’re in the St Helens area! We’ll be trading from 10am until 4pm at St Helens, and the market is easily accessible by bus, rail, and has free parking.

Also on Saturday (7th Feb), we have some of our beautiful handmade colourful leather satchels on show at Nook & Cranny, Liverpool. Situated on our favourite street in Liverpool – Bold Street – Nook & Cranny is a super cute gift and homeware shop, and this weekend they’re hosting a pre-Valentines Fair. With plenty of lovely quirky gifts and cards on offer, it’s well worth popping down to take a look at our satchels. The fair will open on Bold Street from 11am – 6pm on Saturday!

Finally, we have Congleton Market on Sunday (8th Feb) – another great local Artisan Market in the heart of Cheshire. We will be trading on Congleton from 10am – 3pm, and don’t forget that there is FREE parking all day in Congleton on a Sunday!

Plenty of choice this weekend in and around the North-West – pop down to one of our great events and take a look at our beautiful handmade leather satchels!
