Wallasey Food Fair

This Sunday (2nd November) we’ll be at our first ever Food Fair at Wallasey Village from 10am ’til 2pm, at St Mary’s Catholic College. The Wallasey Food Fair aims to bring fresh local produce to local residents at fair prices for both buyers and traders, and this month the organisers have chosen to support The Wirrall Food Bank. There will be a raffle held with all proceeds going to the Food Bank, and the charity will be accepting food donations, and are encouraging visitors to bring along tins and packets of food to give away.

We’re especially excited to meet The Maple Cakery, whose homemade decorated cupcakes and biscuits look super scrumptious, and can’t wait to sample some yummy vegetarian delights from the Real Food Cookery Club! As well as stunning bakes, preserves, choccys, coffees, and cheeses; this month there will be a lovely selection of craft stalls at the fair, and we will be there selling our beautiful vintage inspired hand crafted leather satchels!

To find us at Wallasey Food Fair, there are train services every 15 minutes into Wallasey Village railway station, or by car: Leave the M53 at junction 1, at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A554. Merge onto Leasowe Rd/A551 via the 2nd exit ramp to Wallasey. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit and you will see St Mary’s on your right. Turn right through the gates to the car park.

Chester Christmas Markets 2014

We are super excited to be attending Chester Christmas Markets this year! As of 20th November, the historical city will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland for two weeks. Our little wooden hut of leather satchel delights will be situated on the busy shopping street Eastgate, and we can’t wait to discover who our trading neighbours will be – we’re a pair of absolute suckers for Christmas Market food… it’ll be pancakes for breakfast, bratwurst for lunch, and mulled wine and cheese for tea!

At Chester Christmas Markets we will be stocking a carefully curated selection from our Autumn / Winter collection of British Made leather satchels, bags, and accessories. As well as stunning leather products from Rowallan of Scotland in a range of colours, sizes, and styles; we will be launching our new Bespoke Cambridge Satchel Service – where we work alongside the customer to design and create a beautifully handcrafted leather satchel using British products.

So we’re currently busy designing our Christmas stall and investing in some serious winter woolies – we can’t wait to deck our bags with boughs of holly!

Charming Sheepskin

London Fashion Week 2014 saw the introduction of luxurious sheepskin accessories as a key Autumn / Winter look. We’re lucky enough to be good buddies with the fabulous Baa Stool – a small company based in North Wales who make stunning furniture and fashion out of British sheepskin. We’ve been borrowing Michelle’s amazing fluffy bag charms to show off our vintage inspired leather satchels, and we think they make a great pairing!

An absolute bargain at £19.50, each charm is completely unique and carefully selected British wool. They come in a variety of colours and patterns, and are lovingly crafted into a cute heart shape. We love them teamed with our Rowallan Denver Range of leather satchels, they look great with the vintage finish and colours.

We’ll be stocking some of Baa Stool’s charms at all our markets over the Christmas period, a perfect addition to any leather bag gift!

Treacle Market, Macclesfield

This Sunday (26th October) we have been invited to the much esteemed Treacle Market in Macclesfield.

October’s market promises some Autumnal delights, with a pumpkin carving competition featuring prizes for the ‘scariest’ and the most ‘creative’ Halloween creation… who knows, maybe we’ll make our very own Younique pumpkin! Also, the conker championship is not to miss! We will be pulling out all the stops to ensure we have the toughest conkers going… but we’re not divulging our secrets! (okay, we boil them in vinegar and coat in nail varnish… sshh!)

From traditional treasures galore to modern arts and crafts, antiques, second hand vinyl, family friendly activities, and yummy food and drink… we can’t wait to be selling our wares at the Treacle Market this weekend!

Find the Treacle Market in The Macclesfield Marketplace, Butter Market, and the surrounding streets from 10am to 3.30pm.

The New and Improved Wilmslow Artisan Market

We were really excited to be invited back to Wilmslow Artisan Market last weekend, especially because it was the first event at the fab new location on the Alderley Service Road. The market has been moved back to its original Saturday, and been moved off Grove Street – making for a really lovely location and a very busy day for us!

The stalls had been beautifully curated with an amazing selection of food and drink stalls at one end, and fab local arts and crafts at the other. We were so busy we didn’t even get time to venture down to the food stalls, but we could smell the delights of burgers and pancakes being sizzled, and could hear the live music buzzing all the way down Alderley Road. The tree-lined avenue looked so Autumnal, and there was a very festive feel to the day! Not even the rain and wind kept our customers away.

Our Rowallan Bushman range of oiled leather satchels were very popular this weekend – they come handcrafted in three beautifully Autumnal colours, brown, plum, and green, and in four different sizes and styles. The Bushman leather is one of most hardwearing leathers, ideal for breezy and drizzly Autumnal afternoon strolls!

It was great to meet so many locals who’d come out especially for the new Saturday market, and us traders were really feeding off the buzz from everyone. Even the local businesses were getting involved and were really pleased with the extra footfall the market was bringing. It was plain to see that The Market Co had put a lot of love into organising Wilmslow, everything had been very carefully thought out and it really paid off! We can’t wait for the next!

Countryside Live, Harrogate

Today we are on the road to Harrogate to attend our very last show of the year! Countryside Live is being held at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, and it looks like they have some great family activities and crafting to get stuck in to! After a summer of attending country shows across the UK, we’ve learned to love the drama of a good old vegetable show, and we can’t wait to see what array of beautiful Autumn produce Harrogate will have to offer this weekend! We’re also particularly looking forward to the ferret racing, the dog agility, and the ‘One Man and his Pig’ show!

We’ll be set up in the shopping tent as usual, selling our gorgeous Autumn range of Rowallan leather satchels, and we will be showcasing a selection of our new bespoke leather Cambridge satchel range! Ideal for any early eager Christmas shoppers or those who just want to treat themselves before the Christmas rush, please pop by and say hello to us and have a look at what we have to offer! This is the LAST country show of our very busy year, so let’s make it a good one Yorkshire!

Farmyard Fashion Inspiration

farmyard fashion

After our farm yard wedding weekend, we’ve been getting into the countryside spirit this week. We’ve shopped around for some of our favourite farm-inspired wardrobe pieces for this season to team up with our stunning Bronco leather saddle bag. Farmers love their check shirts, and we’ve found some lovely pieces that have re-invented checks this season for a more high street friendly look!

This check dress from Sea Salt of Cornwall is a gorgeous shift style which looks great with woolly leggings or tights. The cute little pockets add a simple bit of detailing to the classic shape. We’ve paired this with a pair of best selling boots from White Stuff – we’ve heard these are selling out fast! The fur lining and rubber shaped soles makes for a really comfortable wear for this season. Of course, it wouldn’t be farmyard fashion without a classic equestrain style jacket, and Fat Face’s updated Utility jacket has really cute wool around the collar and a handy belt that draws the jacket in at the waist. To top it all off we’ve chose a check scarf to layer on top of the dress, in a lovely contrasting blue.

And of course, our Rowallan distressed leather saddle bag is great for Autumn farmyard follies and long walks across the countryside! With an adjustable strap and plenty of hidden pockets, it’s a classic piece that’ll see you right through to next Autumn and beyond!
