Buy British Day

BUY BRITISH DAY

We are really excited to hear about the first Buy British Day next Friday (3rd October). The day was officially launched by Best of Britannia – a Pop-Up department store stocking the best of British produce.  The launch of Buy British Day took place in the House of Commons and featured some of the most exciting British manufacturers, included Brompton Cycles and Walsh Footwear.

The whole aim of the event is to encourage British customers to buy more products designed and made here in Great Britain, and as a local business supporting British craftsmanship, we will be wholeheartedly supporting the day! Our Rowallan of Scotland leather satchels are handcrafted with Scottish Leather on the West coast of Scotland, and our new range of Bespoke Cambridge Satchels are lovingly designed by ourselves here at Younique UK, and individually handcrafted by one of the most talented leather Craftsmen in South Wales.

We are lucky enough to be able attend local events and markets across the UK almost every weekend, and it always amazes us how enthusiastic our customers are about buying local. These regular events are a great indicator of how popular British produce has become, and being able to deal directly with the seller creates a personal dialogue between customer and trader that buying from overseas or from big corporate stores doesn’t allow.

So on Friday 3rd October we’ll be eating Bury Black Pudding for breakfast, wearing our Fairisle jumpers, cycling our Brompton bikes, and most importantly, wearing our handmade leather satchels!
