The Great British Life Shop

We have recently opened our new online store with Great British Life – a company who publish country life magazines across the UK. The aim of the new store is to celebrate all things British, and to support independent British traders. The website brings together top-quality British brands who proudly source and craft their products in and around Britain.

Us traders joined forces last night on Twitter to attempt a #BritishTakeover, and to encourage customers to shop local. This morning we’ve chosen a few of our favourite products that showcase the best of British craft and design.

We have carefully curated a stunning selection of our classic British leather satchels and bags for our shop with Great British Life, and we are confident our collection celebrates the best of British design. All our satchels are designed and hand made in Scotland, and our current favourite product is this Rowallan Denver Leather Satchel – spot on for Autumn with gorgeously soft and supple vintage look leather! Available here for just £100.

First up from our choice of traders are these really sweet National Park Mugs from the talented HK White Ltd. We love this Snowdonia mug, £16.50, as we’re currently working with a leather manufacturer in Wales to create some amazing bespoke satchels, and we’ve been lucky enough to spend a lot of time in the beautiful Welsh countryside! HK White Ltd use our stunning National Parks as inspiration for their British made hand-finished bone china mugs. We think they’re beautiful, and with 15 national parks and 33 areas of natural beauty to choose from in the UK, we’re sure you’ll never be short of an inspiring brew to wake you up in the morning!

baa stool

Another fab product of Wales! These funky fluffy stools are made in North Wales by the talented upholsterer at Baa Stools. This particular stool is made from Rare Breed wool, and is £275. All the sheepskin used is responsibly sourced from Welsh sheep, and the stunningly soft skin acts as a natural dirt repellent, making it ideal for a comfy foot stool. With a range of colours and prices to satisfy all tastes and budgets, we think these stools are one of the most unique products on the Great British Life shop!

This stunningly quirky dress comes from Mother and Daughter team CsevenM,  who make hand crafted soft furnishings and beautiful handmade dresses. The philosophy behind their products is simple; “blending timeless craftsmanship, simple silhouettes and intricate details to produce beautiful clothing and charming soft interiors for your home and wardrobe.”  This Nola Green Spot Dress is £183, and is a flattering feminine dress with a funky bright green underlay. We love the halter neck detailing and the earthy Autumnal colours!

awaken ochre

Finally, for a bit of pampering, we love Ochre Body and Skin products. All handmade in the UK using natural sea minerals, these gorgeous products aim to invigorate and energise, and we love the idea of waking ourselves up with this Black Pepper and Lemon Body Wash from their ‘Awaken’ range, £14. All products are made with the nutrient rich products of our seas, including seaweed, algae, and sea-salt. Ideal for sensitive and dry skin, and apparently wonderful for cellulite, these products improve the skin’s elasticity and act as anti-ageing products! What more could you want from a simple body wash?!

With new traders joining all the time, the Great British Life Shop is the place to be to keep up with the latest in British craft and design, and we’re really excited and proud to be a part of this new venture! Don’t forget to pay our shop a visit!
