Where Have our Satchels Been This Week?

Occasionally we like to take a day or two off here at Younique, and last weekend we took some time out to travel down to Somerset to attend a VIHD (…that’ll be a Very Important Hen Do). We had an aboslutely amazing time and somehow managed to squeeze a champagne tea party, farmyard frolics, and some hippy shaking into just 48 hours! Our first stop was the tiny city of Wells, where we were staying in a lovely B&B called Glengarth Guest House – a beautiful old townhouse situated just 10 minutes walk from the centre of Wells. Julie, the owner, was lovely enough to let us have the run of the house, and we had a brilliant time eating cake, drinking Prosecco, and playing hilarious games with the girls!

On saturday morning we donned our amazing farmer outfits to visit West Country Games in Bristol, whilst the hen sported a rather tasty looking pig onesie and answered to the name of Rasher for the morning. What an amazing day! From firing tennis balls at The Wurzels to wrestling in fat suits; we wanged wellies and had plenty of inflatable fun. The games were a cross between It’s a Knock Out and Worzel Gummidge! The hen got a good soaking at the end, and we all left with aching bellies from laughing so hard! And the pasty and cider picnic from the farm shop next door didn’t go unappreciated either…

Topped off with a hippy themed dress up and some lovely pub grub at Godney’s quirkiest pub, The Sheppey, the weekend was a roaring success and the bride to be was given a thorough Somerset send off! Ooo arrgh!

Come monday morning after everybody else had travelled back up North, we sisters were in dire need of some relaxtion, so we headed to Bath where we enjoyed two hours in the Spa, and an absolutely perfect cream tea at Bea’s Vintage Tea Rooms. Complete with cucumber sandwiches, scones and jam, and the TASTIEST victoria sponge we’d ever eaten, the tearooms provided the perfect setting for two tired gals in need of some respite! Bea’s is a beautifully quirky place situated just next door to the brilliant Fashion Museum, and just off the beaten tourist track. Expect plenty of nosatalgic music, a difficult tea choice, and service with a big smile!

Of course, we wouldn’t have got through our weekend without our trusty Rowallan leather satchels, and they saw two Younique daughters and one Younique mother through everything from very muddy farm games to sophisticated cream teas…
