This week, we are so excited to be in Harrogate for the 156th Great Yorkshire Show! From Tuesday 8th to Thursday 10th July, we will be set up at Stand 369 selling our Rowallan leather. Yorkshire has been the hottest county in the UK this summer, thanks to some famous bike ride… So we have come up with our five favourite things that Yorkshire has contributed to the world!
5. BETTY’S BAKERY
Found in her tea rooms in Harrogate, Ilkley, and York, Betty is an absolute baking legend. Whether it’s a cream tea, a fat rascal, or a toasted teacake you’re after – Betty has it all. Sitting in the tearooms to nibble a cake is a treat in itself, and even better is her takeaway bakeries which sell the biggest range of traditional Yorkshire treats and teas in the county.
4. YORKSHIRE TEA
If you like a good strong Northern brew, this hits the spot! Ideal for those with deep Yorkshire pockets, this is the kind of teabag that you get two pots out of, squeeze it, hang it out to dry, and brew up a third pot for good measure! Originally made to counteract the harsh waters of the Dales, the Great Yorkshire teabag is now a universally enjoyed beverage around the UK. Eee, stick tha kettl’on, eh!
3. YORKSHIRE TERRIER
Because why not? So cute!
2. TOUR DE YORKSHIRE
This one requires no explanation… A Gallic institution came to meet a county passionate about cycling, and it resulted in one of the biggest spectacles of Northern pride since the Olympics.
1. GREAT YORKSHIRE SHOW
What, you didn’t think we’d forgo the greatest agricultural show in the UK for a measly cycle race did you?! Whereas the Tour only lasted three days, this farming institution has been going strong for 156 summers! Packed with local traders, food and drink, and all walks of four legged life, this Yorkshire institution is not worth missing out on!
And to celebrate all things Yorkshire, we’re offering 10% discount to all customers who mention our blog. Now thee cannet argue wi’that!
